Paintings and
inspirations

Since I was a little girl I have enjoyed art, it
is now more than a passion that consumes my thoughts. I studied at
the art institute of Colorado, where I found that art isn’t
something that you are taught; it’s something you learn through
trial and error. So much of my emotions and everyday life inspires
my paintings. I would consider myself a bit of a dreamer, and with
the freedom of self-expression that art gives me I am able to create
my ideal world. The research behind my paintings is simple; I am a spectator of life. From childhood memories, traveling, and pure beauty in the world around me, I take the positive in what I see and add what I think is needed. With these things I have the recipe to a beautiful collage. Deep within the layers of paint you can typically find a pattern or two. Patterns fascinate me, the way they evolve, and repeat themselves; they have a way of expressing the ongoing cycles of life. Sometimes to complete the message I am creating, I will add an old photograph. I love the ability that old black and white pictures have to captivate your attention and to tell a story. I continue to learn new techniques and styles every time that I paint. |
